TRENCH: DECAY is not a lone-wolf shooter. The whole game is built around a squad pushing through the mud together — and it is dramatically better with friends. This page covers how the co-op loop works, how to get your friends into the same trench, and what the developer has (and has not) documented about squads.

Every description of TRENCH: DECAY — from the official game page to independent coverage — centers on the same loop: you enter the battlefield with your squad, push through the trenches, collect weapons and resources, and try to make it out alive. Mobile Matters calls it “a real test of how well you communicate with your allies and how well you utilize your weapons and other resources.”

Your squad moves the map
Co-op wins matter beyond your own lobby. Per the official description, every victory changes a live war map shared across all servers — your squad’s successful extraction pushes the community front line forward. See our Live War Map guide for how that campaign layer works.
That makes a coordinated friend group one of the most effective units in the game: squads that communicate, share loot duties, and extract together win more — and every win counts twice.
How to play with friends
- Friend each other on Roblox first. TRENCH: DECAY uses the standard Roblox multiplayer stack, so your friends list is the gateway to shared servers.
- Join through a friend’s profile. When a friend is already in TRENCH: DECAY, open their Roblox profile and use Join to drop into the same server (their joins must be enabled in privacy settings).
- Or launch together. Start the game from the official experience page at the same time — smaller beta server counts make landing together straightforward, and you can retry a join if you get split.
- Gear up before you deploy. Have everyone redeem the current promo codes — free Medals and crates mean the whole squad enters the trench with better melee and firearm options. Codes are per-account, so each friend claims their own.

Confirmed: each server is configured for a maximum of 40 players, per the experience settings published on the Roblox platform.
Still undocumented: how those players are grouped in a deployment, whether a formal party or matchmaking system exists, and whether private servers are available. Beta server settings can also change without notice. Rather than guess, we list only the verifiable co-op facts above and will update this page as the solo developer documents more through the official Discord and studio group.

Is TRENCH: DECAY a co-op game?+
Yes. TRENCH: DECAY is a squad-based PvE shooter — you fight alongside other players against environmental hazards and enemy waves, not against other players. Coverage from Mobile Matters describes it as a test of how well you communicate with your allies and use your weapons and resources together.
Can I play TRENCH: DECAY with friends?+
Yes. TRENCH: DECAY runs on Roblox, so the standard platform tools work: friends can join the same server through the Roblox friends list (“Join” on a friend’s profile while they are in the experience) or by launching the game together. Once in the same server you deploy into the trenches as part of the same fight.
Is TRENCH: DECAY PvP or PvE?+
PvE. You and your squad fight against the environment and enemy forces — barbed wire, gas, and hostile waves — rather than against other players. If you are looking for the large-scale PvP trench game, that is TRENCHES by DYNAMIC STUDIOS, a completely different title (see our comparison page).
How many players are in a TRENCH: DECAY server?+
Each TRENCH: DECAY server holds up to 40 players. That figure comes straight from the experience configuration published on the Roblox platform, so it is the one hard number we can verify. What the developer has not documented is how those 40 players are organised once you deploy — whether the server runs as one large push or splits into smaller fireteams — so treat 40 as the server capacity rather than a confirmed squad size.
