TRENCH:DECAYField Manual
OverviewLast updated 2026-08-22

TRENCH: DECAY vs Helldivers 2 is a comparison players keep making — the developer’s own Roblox search tags name Helldivers II. They are separate, unaffiliated games; this page covers what they share and where they part ways.

TRENCH: DECAY vs Helldivers 2

People keep calling TRENCH: DECAY “the Roblox Helldivers” — and the developer is not exactly hiding from it. The search tags on the official Roblox page list Helldivers II and Helldivers 2 outright. This page separates what the two games really share from what is nothing alike.

The TRENCH: DECAY column is read from the official Roblox experience listing and platform API. The Helldivers 2 column summarises publicly documented facts about a separate, unrelated commercial game, included here only so you can tell the two apart. What Genuinely Overlaps

Three things TRENCH: DECAY really did borrow

01

A war map everyone shares

The single strongest overlap. TRENCH: DECAY’s official description states that every victory changes the live war map shared on every server and that your battles decide the front line — the same design intent as the Galactic War, where individual missions feed one campaign the entire player base is fighting. In both games your session is not self-contained: winning nudges a line that everyone else can see.

How the live war map works
02

Orders handed down to everybody

Helldivers 2 issues Major Orders as timed, community-wide goals. TRENCH: DECAY has been running the same idea in public: the Roblox store title has carried a bracketed [MAJOR ORDER] tag during campaign pushes, and the developer has named promo codes after those pushes — MajorObjectives and MajorDefenseBackUp are both live on our list. The bracket tag is also why so many people end up searching for “[MAJOR ORDER] TRENCH: DECAY codes”; it is the same code list either way.

Medals, and War Bonds to spend them near

The reward vocabulary is borrowed nearly verbatim. Both games call their earned campaign currency Medals, and both call their unlock bundles War Bonds. The implementations differ — Helldivers 2 Warbonds are permanent battle-pass-style pages, while TRENCH: DECAY war bonds are in-game bundles introduced during the MAJOR ORDER wave — but a Helldivers player reading the TRENCH: DECAY reward screen will recognise the words immediately.

What is inside the war bonds

Where the comparison falls apart

Strip out the war map and the Medals vocabulary and the two games stop resembling each other very quickly. Helldivers 2 is a paid third-person release from a funded studio, shipped on PS5, PC and Xbox, with a fixed four-player squad dropping onto alien planets. TRENCH: DECAY is a free first-person Roblox experience by one person, set in the mud and gas of the First World War, running inside 40-slot servers, and still labelled Early Beta — it was only created on July 1, 2026 and has been pushing multiple builds a week ever since. Expecting Helldivers-grade polish from a five-week-old solo beta is the fastest way to be disappointed by a game that is, on its own terms, doing something quite impressive.

A note on “is this allowed?”

Being inspired by another game’s structure is ordinary game design — persistent community campaigns predate Helldivers by decades. TRENCH: DECAY uses its own WW1 setting, its own art, its own weapons and its own progression, and the Helldivers references live in the store-page search tags rather than in the game itself. Nothing on this page should be read as claiming any partnership, licence or affiliation between studio rook and Arrowhead Game Studios or Sony. There is none that has been announced.

Straight Answers

Common questions

Is TRENCH: DECAY a Roblox version of Helldivers 2?+

Not officially, and it is not a port or a copy — it is an original WW1 game by an independent solo developer, with no connection to Arrowhead Game Studios or Sony. What is true is that the developer openly invites the comparison: the search tags on the official Roblox experience page list “Helldivers II” and “Helldivers 2” among the terms used to surface the game. The influence is real and acknowledged; the game is still its own thing, set in the trenches of the First World War rather than in space.

What does TRENCH: DECAY actually take from Helldivers 2?+

Three structural ideas, all visible in first-party material. First, a shared persistent front: the official description says every victory changes a live war map shared on every server, which is the same premise as the Galactic War. Second, community-wide directives: the store listing has carried a [MAJOR ORDER] tag during campaign pushes, and two promo codes are literally named MajorObjectives and MajorDefenseBackUp. Third, the reward vocabulary — Medals as the earned currency and War Bonds as the unlock bundles. The names line up almost one for one.

What is genuinely different between the two?+

Almost everything outside that framework. TRENCH: DECAY is free on Roblox and plays in first person; Helldivers 2 is a paid PS5, PC and Xbox release that plays in third person. One is trench warfare with gas and the undead, the other is satirical science fiction. Helldivers 2 locks squads to four players on a dedicated planet drop, while TRENCH: DECAY runs inside 40-slot Roblox servers. And scale-wise they are not remotely comparable: Helldivers 2 is a finished studio production, TRENCH: DECAY is a solo-developed beta that is still shipping several builds a week.

Can I play TRENCH: DECAY if I do not own Helldivers 2?+

Yes — they have nothing to do with each other commercially. TRENCH: DECAY is free and needs only a Roblox account, so you can try the trench-and-war-map loop without buying anything. Equally, owning Helldivers 2 gives you no bonus, account link or reward inside TRENCH: DECAY.

Do Helldivers 2 codes work in TRENCH: DECAY?+

No. Helldivers 2 does not use a Roblox-style promo code box at all, and TRENCH: DECAY validates codes against its own Roblox backend. The only codes that will ever redeem in TRENCH: DECAY are the ones on our Codes page — anything else returns an error.

Which one should I play?+

They answer different questions. If you want the full production — polished third-person gunplay on PC or console, and you are happy to pay for it — that is Helldivers 2. If you want the shared-war-map idea for free, on Roblox, on the device you already have, and you do not mind beta rough edges and near-daily patches, that is TRENCH: DECAY. Plenty of players do both; this site only tracks the second one.

Enlisting anyway?

Start with the free Medals, then learn the loop that the war map is actually built on.
